The new foliopod.com finally launches. Yes, really.
After months of promising ourselves that we would take a break from our client work, freelancing, and video games long enough to redesign and develop our corporate image, we finally did it. Not that we had much of a choice, since we had nowhere to point people to our online work, but that is a moot point.
Several really awesome things occurred with this transition. We realize now that we are going to be needing to hire people (on a freelance or commission basis to start with) to begin building a team beyond ourselves. Sure, we're uebermensch and we are often described with the adjective uebermenschliches by professional Nietzsche scholars (no, not really), but we cannot do it all, just most of it. Another big thing is that we have redefined a lot of the core ideas behind foliopod and what we intend to do with this company as a creative entity. Our eventual goal is to be able to produce internal projects that millions of people use on a daily basis as a defining part of their online experience. In all likelihood, the ability to create those applications is already within our grasp if we were to shed off all of our financial responsibilities, however, we are not so lucky as to have won the lottery or been backed by an angel with his (or her) millions. Rather, we're bootstrapping everything we do by working multiple jobs and producing gorgeous websites for our clients.
Watch the site or one of our social networking accounts for the latest foliopod news. There's lots more coming soon. If you are interested in possibly joining the foliopod team as a developer (XHTML/CSS, PHP/MySQL, JS/AJAX [mootools specifically], Python, or Flash/AIR), designer (web-focused with a distinctive style), salesperson / account manager (commission based to start with, possibly moving to hourly/salary soon) drop us a line via the contact form and we'll let you know as soon as we know more.
